The film Oscar in China tells the story of a young boy who visits China for the first time in his life. From a small town somewhere in Europe he suddenly finds himself in metropole Shanghai. Everything is new, everything is different. Everyday there is a big pirate boat passing by on the huge river. Are these real pirates? What are these pirates doing in China?

The film 'Oscar in China' has been made entire with a small digital photo camera that Cym had bought a few weeks before the trip to China. The movie-function of the camera turned out to be a nice extra feature. The feature film 'Oscar in China' was made entirely with this small, bright pink, camera. All the photos, videos and sounds were recorded with this camera.

Deze week is er in Nederland een jonge orka gevonden, die de naam Morgan heeft gekregen. Een aantal jaren geleden werd de verdwaalde orka Luna in de oceaan bij Canada wereldberoemd. Een nieuw kinderboek, dat deze zomer verschijnt, vertelt het verhaal van orka Luna en bevat tevens veel informatie over indianen en orka's.

Ik werk op dit moment mee aan een website bij het boek over de beroemde orka Luna. Op de website komen onder andere filmpjes en geluiden van orka's. Wie weet, komt er over enige tijd ook wel een filmpje van de nu al beroemde orka Morgan bij. De website is te bezoeken op http://www.orkaluna.nl/

The animation machine is a machine with just two buttons. It is designed to easily make stop motion animations. The machine is great for kids, because it is so easy to use. But adults like it too ;-) We spent some time playing with the machine during the Klik! animation festival in Amsterdam. Here is one of the animations which Oskar made all by himself:
